Between light and shadow
The manuscript or printed as text, is incorporated in this period of multiple disciplines and visual technologies, in the area of painting, the object, or the installation.
We can observe in this crossing of incorporation, a new corpus, in a situation that presents in the area of the visual arts and new aesthetic considerations. In the same way, the constructive establishing of the materialistic space in which such writings are inscribed is taking a new contention turn.
The work of Paula Rivero is found in the terms of that plastic reality, her writing brings to memory vivid images of the past, images of different countries and regions where she once lived. Her passing through that America is so well described in her paintings as well as her unforgettable emotions, bring to life far away eco of Peru, Mexico, Italy, Uruguay and Argentina. This recollection has had an effect and influence over her work. From there we see her melancholic painting, of restricted tones, slow murmur, of a sensibility that denotes that state of silenced spirit between light and shadow without large contrast or abrupt intervals. That emotional state converted into pictured language, stay trapped in a grill of contention, in the otorgonal times, in an American constructive manner of Torres Garcia. Those footprints and murmurs of missing, of a return, overvalued migrating memory are built as the images come back and audio perception that compose the actual series of this young artist. |

Entre la luz y la sombra
La grafía manuscrita o impresa como texto, se incorpora en este período de múltiples disciplinas y tecnologías visuales, al campo de la pintura, del objeto, o de la instalación. Podemos observar en estos cruces e incorporaciones, un nuevo corpus, una situación que se presenta en el campo de las artes visuales a nuevas consideraciones estéticas. Del mismo modo los planteos constructivos del espacio matérico en que se inscriben dichas escrituras van tomando un nuevo giro de contención.
La obra de Paula Rivero se encuentra en los términos de esa realidad plástica, su escritura trae a la memoria recuerdos del ayer, huellas de países y territorios donde vivió en épocas anteriores. Su paso por América tan bien descripta en su pintura como estado emocional imborrable, evoca ecos lejanos de Perú, México, Uruguay, Italia, Argentina. Esta rememoración ha tenido efectos e influencia sobre su obra. De ahí que su pintura sea melancólica, de tonos restringidos, de murmullos quedos, de una sensibilidad que denota ese estado del espíritu silencioso entre la luz y la sombra sin grandes contrastes ni intervalos abruptos. Esos estados emocionales convertidos en lenguaje pictórico, quedan atrapados en una grilla de contención, mas de las veces ortogonal, a la manera del constructivismo americano de Torres García. Esos rastros y murmullos de una añoranza, de un retorno, sobrevolando una memoria migratoria se construyen a medida que regresan las imágenes audioperceptivas que componen la serie actual de la pintura de esta jóven artista. |
